How the ratings work
Wind: Estimates based on spot guides (surf magazine), rental station information and rider reports for early/mid September. On Lake Garda, the morning Vento/Pelèr and the afternoon Ora are rated separately and then combined. Both winds need stable high-pressure weather, so they often blow on the same day. The combined figure is therefore lower than the sum of the two.
Travel: Door-to-spot from Cologne, including the drive to the airport, 90 min at the airport before departure, flight, ferry and rental car. Based on 2026 flight schedules; check 2027 schedules before booking.
Rental: Range and quality of equipment, professionalism, and whether the station is open from 8 to 12 September.
